The 400 years-old Moro raised San and protects her with from all evil. This evil is presented by humans from Moro's point of view. She hates all humans and would kill any of them and is prepared to die in every battle. Even though she is filled with hate for all humans, she feels so much love for her "daughter" San. And even Ashitaka is tolerated by her ... however in a special way ... . Additionally Moro is a very wise and loyal character who is defending the forest and the forest spirit with her life.
